DAY ONE The Divine Networking
Luke 5:1-10

“And it came to pass that as the people pressed upon Him to hear the word of God, He stood by the
Lake of Genesaret;
(V2) He saw two ships standing by the lake’s shore but the fisherman were gone out of them and were washing their nets.
(V1) People really wanted to hear the word of the Lord because:

They had a spiritual hunger
They had needs
Some were likely curious
Some were desperate
All were touched by Jesus teaching

The Lord saw the hunger . This time they were not on a side of a hill, they were by a lake.
“The people pressed upon Him to hear the word of God”
“He saw”

He saw the hungry, and the opportunity that was tying the story together.(and made a giant fishing net)That was really NET WORKING.

But it seemed not to be the right timing.
It was after hours.
The fishermen were washing their nets and cleaning up.
I think the Lord loves to mess up our plans because He has better ones and more far reaching.
The boats (vessels) were empty. This seems to be set up for a miracle.

How many times does the Lord show compassion in the Bible?
No food
No water
No oil
No plan
No way out
No transportation
No way seemingly to get from point A to point B
No hope
No remedy
No healing
No family
No home
No money
No understanding of a situation
No necessary facilities (bathroom) and His creative way to solve the problem
You make your own list. Jesus always provides a solution.
I don’t think the Lord is concerned about what we consider inconvenience.
Jesus ask Peter to move the boat from the shore. Then He sat down and taught the people.
The Reward
……”and when He was finished talking……….” There was more to the Net working.
Jesus asked Peter to push out and let the nets down for a big haul. The vessel of need became a blessing. What was empty was now filled.

DAY TWO

I can remember as a child that my Dad was a really great fisherman. It was a hobby, but it was something he was pretty intense about and really enjoyed. He rarely “got skunked” and after years of pleasure fishing he was not happy if it happened.
Simon Peter and the boys had “gotten skunked” and came in with no fish. He did not seem so happy about it and put up some resistance to Jesus whenHe made His request. But Peter’s famous words of hop”nevertheless, at Your word I will let down the net”.

With obedience there is joy. WOW! So many fish their nets were breaking. Jesus answered with abundant blessing. They called their friends and such a great abundance that the boats began to sink or low ride in the water.

This is truly an “attitude of gratitude.” along with repentance. When we see God’s love His compassion on us, an dHis care, it should humble our hearts.

If you think about it, they had quite a financial loss that day, a big one, but Jesus made up the difference and more with that networking group of fishermen. All involved were shocked and astonished. I think they were pretty happy as well, and grateful.

Then Jesus turned the lesson into going from the natural to the supernatural and on to the greater lesson of extending the Kingdom of God. There were changes in lives both on the land and on sea.
Hunger
need
obedience
provision
blessing
Hunger
need
obedience
provision
blessing

There is a pattern there.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We want to make a differenc in Your kingdom here on earth. We humble our hearts before you and ask that you would fill the empty places in our lives and help us to be poured out to others and make a difference. Help us to hear and obey You , Lord. In Jesus name. Amen!

DAY THREE

The next day I was reading this over again, and I got one of those “Have you ever thought about” thoughts. This time I saw the connection and laughed.

The phrase was :
“What is your “NET” Worth? I laughed because it was such a play on words. The Holy Spirit was not asking about money, he was referring to evangelism and soul winning. Remember the last part of that event was Jesus told them they would have a new identity.

They would be fishers of men.

I saw a huge net with lots of people in it.. That is really exciting. I was trained in street evangelism about eight years ago. Once I got over the fear and performance thing, and realized it was the Holy Spirit doing it, things got really amazing. I began to pray about leading someone to the Lord.

Here are some of the details:
“Wow ! This turned into such a mess.
I just was having a problem with a company. They gave me a number to call. I was a bit frustrated (LOL, more than a bit) when all of a sudden, I asked the person I was talking to on a recorded line if he knew Jesus. He said he was religious and I said religion is man made but what you want is a relationship with Jesus. He said he never thought about that. So I had the pleasure of praying a blessing on him, and then asked him if he wanted to receive the free gift of salvation. He said “yes”.

Then I questioned him about his motive and if he was being nice or if he really wanted to. He said he really wanted to. This was soooooo cool. You could hear his heart as he prayed.
So special. Goooooo God!

We were still on a recorded line as well, but he said he really wanted to pray. Then he thanked me.
How great and awesome is our Lord. Beauty for ashes. I guess it is not just being a worship leader, it is about being a worshiper. Praise God for His faithfulness!!”
Maybe you would like to know how to fish for “whosoever” I can show you.
